Policies and Grading
Classroom Rules
1. Listen and follow directions.
2. Use kind words and actions.
3. Work quietly.
4. Keep hands, feet and objects to yourself.
5.Wait your turn.
Consequences
We use a color card system for behavior. If a rule is not being followed, the student turns his/her card with the following consequences:
Green Star- Excellent day!
Green- Good day! (warning only)
Blue- I can do better. (5 minute time out)
Yellow- Not so good day. (10 minute time out, note home)
Red- Very bad day. (no recess, note home, principal)
Grades
Our grades on work are the same as report cards: 1,2,3 or 4.
Here is a brief description of what those numbers mean:
1- The student has shown minimum/no effort, the work is incomplete and below grade level.
2-The student has basic understanding yet shows many errors.
3- The student has done all parts of the assignment correctly with few errors.
4- The student has shown extra effort and the work is above grade level with no errors.
These do not correlate to an A, B, C scale.
